Prateek Shrivastava is the co-founder of EMpact, a newly created incubator and accelerator of startups in frontier markets, including in Eastern Europe and Central Asia. He is also consultant operating partner at Accion’s digital transformation fund and a strategic adviser to other impact investors for financial inclusion.

Since 1996, he has led pioneering large-scale global programs in the fields of supply chain automation, e-commerce, field automation, and financial services. His focus since 2005 has been to drive innovation within financial services providers – banks, MFIs, fintechs, mobile operators, payments enablers, investors, and governments – to accelerate economic development. His most recent work at Accion, supported by Mastercard, resulted in the creation or acceleration of digital tools that impacted the lives of over 15 million people. At Accion he also helped design and launch the world’s first private equity fund for digital transformation of financial institutions in emerging markets.

Over the years, Prateek designed and ran projects for Clarence House, 10 Downing Street, UNSGSA Queen Maxima, and the White House. He sits on boards, mentors fintechs, and has been a regular author, blogger, and speaker at the UK Parliament, GSMA, USAID, World Economic Forum, Oxford University, Johns Hopkins, University of Lyon, and the London Business School.
